This part of GB/T 20000 stipulates the principle that the relationship between product function and environmental impact should be considered in a reasonable balance in the process of formulating product standards; it outlines the various ways that product standards may affect the environment at each stage of the product life cycle; and techniques for assessing the environmental impact of product standards, and methods for reducing negative environmental impacts caused by product standards. This section applies to the drafting of product standards involving environmental content. In order to reflect the diversity of product impacts on the environment, this section can be supplemented by professional standards.
