Within the basic scope described in GB/T 17971.1, this part of GB/T 17971 specifies the division of the digital area and digital partitions of the keyboard, and also specifies the arrangement of keys in the digital partition ZN0 and digital function partitions ZN1 to ZN6, Numbering and positioning, and assignment of several functions to the keys. The digital partition ZN0 is often used in text and data processing. For example: office environment, banking, point-of-sale terminal (POS), telematics service, telephone equipment, home electronic system, numerical control and personal identification number (PIN) entry of machines and equipment, etc. Functional partitions ZN1 to ZN6 of the digital area are often used in data entry, text and data processing, and general office environments.
