Scope: This standard specifies the terms and definitions of restraint systems for child occupants of motor vehicles (hereinafter referred to as child restraint systems), the installation and fixing requirements on vehicles, the structure of restraint systems, and the performance requirements for restraint system assemblies and their components and test methods. This standard applies to restraint systems for child occupants suitable for installation on three wheels or motor vehicles, but does not apply to child restraint systems installed on folding seats or side seats.
