Scope

Chapter 1 of GB 5226.1-2002 is replaced by the following: This Part applies to electrical and electronic equipment for sewing machines, sewing units and sewing systems specially designed for industrial use. The equipment discussed in this standard starts from the power inlet of the mechanical and electrical equipment (see 5.1). This Part applies to electrical equipment or parts of electrical equipment whose rated voltage does not exceed 1000Va.c or 1500Vd.c. and whose rated power does not exceed 200Hz. This section does not include all requirements (such as guarding, interlocking or control), which are required by other standards to protect people from non-electrical harm. This standard applies to sewing machine units and systems installed in dry and clean places, for example, sewing dry sewing materials (such as industrial fabrics). Stricter measures should be taken for sewing machine units and systems used in non-dry and clean places.
