Scope

This chapter of GB/T 11918.1-2014 is replaced by the following: This part of GB/T 11918 specifies the technical requirements such as dimensional interchangeability requirements for industrial plug sockets and couplers with pins and sockets. This standard applies to plugs and socket-outlets, cable couplers and appliance couplers with a rated working voltage not exceeding 1 000 V, a rated frequency of 500 Hz and a rated current not exceeding 125 A, intended primarily for industrial purposes and for indoor or outdoor use. These accessories are only intended to be installed by trained [electrical] personnel (GB/T 2900.73-2008, definition 195-04-02) or skilled [electrical] technicians (GB/T 2900.73-2008, definition 195-04-01) use. This standard applies to plugs, socket-outlets, cable couplers and appliance couplers fitted with pins and sockets of standard construction. This Part applies to plugs, sockets, cable couplers and appliance couplers (hereinafter collectively referred to as "electrical accessories") used at an ambient temperature of -25°C to 40°C. The possibility of using these electrical accessories on construction sites, agricultural, commercial and domestic use is not excluded. This standard applies to electrical accessories with screwless terminals or insulation-piercing terminals, rated current not greater than 32 A in series I, and not greater than 30 A in series II. Sockets or appliance inlets incorporated in or fixed to electrical equipment are within the scope of this standard. This standard also applies to electrical accessories in extra-low voltage installations.
