This test: - provides an accelerated test method for evaluating the discoloration of silver and silver alloys used in contacts and connections; - is especially suitable for comparative tests; - is not suitable as a general corrosion test, that is, it may not be predictable Corrosion behavior of contacts and connections in industrial atmospheres. The purpose of this test is: a) To determine the influence of an atmosphere containing hydrogen sulfide on the contact characteristics of contact points and connections made of the following materials: - silver or silver alloys; - silver with other protective layers; - silver with other protective layers; Metal covered with silver or silver alloy. b) Check the tightness and effectiveness of solderless connections made of the above materials. In all tests, the performance evaluation is mainly based on the change value of the contact resistance caused by the exposure of the test sample to the atmosphere containing hydrogen sulfide.
