Scope: This part of GB/T 17421 specifies the diagonal displacement test, through which the spatial performance of the machine tool can be estimated. Performing a complete inspection of the dimensional performance of a machine tool is a difficult and time-consuming process. Diagonal displacement testing reduces the time and cost of testing spatial performance. The diagonal shift test is not itself a self-diagnostic test procedure, although diagnostic conclusions can sometimes be drawn from the test results. In particular, direct measurement of the perpendicularity of the coordinate axes is possible when the face-diagonal inspection is included. The diagonal displacement test on the body diagonal can be supplemented by the face diagonal test, by parallel to the machine coordinate axis according to ISO 230-2, or by the three coordinates defined in GB/T 17421.4-2003 This is achieved by evaluating the contour generated by the plane. Diagonal displacement inspection can be used for machine acceptance or for reconfirmation of machine performance, where the inspection parameters are used as comparison indicators.
