1.1 This practice describes the procedures for the rehabilitation of sewer lines and conduits for existing pipelines 6 to 180 in. in diameter by the insertion of a machine-made field-fabricated spiral wound liner pipe into the existing pipeline using a winding machine which remains stationary in the insertion pit or, alternatively, which travels along the interior of the existing pipeline. These rehabilitation processes can be used in a variety of gravity applications such as sanitary sewers, storm sewers, culverts, and process piping. 1.1.1 When using stationary installation equipment for existing pipelines 6 to 48 in., after insertion, the spiral wound liner pipe is expanded until it presses against the interior surface of the existing pipeline. Alternatively, for existing pipelines 6 to 108 in. in diameter, the spiral wound liner pipe is inserted as a fixed diameter into the existing pipeline and is not expanded, and the annular space between the spiral wound liner pipe and the existing pipe is grouted. 1.1.2 When using the traveling installation equipment for existing pipelines 6 to 180 in. the spiral wound liner pipe is installed in contact with the interior surface of the existing pipeline to form a close fit liner, except in the corners of rectangular pipes or where obstructions or offsets occur. Alternatively, for existing pipelines 6 to 180 in. in diameter and for similar sized existing non circular pipelines such as arched or oval or rectangular shapes, the spiral wound liner is installed as a fixed diameter into the exiting pipeline to form a non-close fit liner and the annular space between the spiral wound liner pipe and the existing pipe is grouted. 1.2 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regarded as standard. The values given in parentheses are mathematical conversions to SI units that are provided for information only and are not considered standard. 1.3 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety, health, and environmental practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use. 1.3.1 Particular attention is drawn to those safety regulations and requirements involving entering into and working in confined spaces. 1.4 This international standard was developed in accordance with internationally recognized principles on standardization established in the Decision on Principles for the Development of International Standards, Guides and Recommendations issued by the World Trade Organization Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) Committee.

1.1 This practice covers the procedures for the reconstruction of pipelines and conduits (4 in. to 72 in. (100 mm to 1830 mm) diameter) by the pulled-in place installation of a resinimpregnated, glass fiber tube into an existing pipe or conduit followed by its inflation with compressed air pressure (see Fig. 1) to expand it firmly against the wall surface of the host structure. The photo-initiated resin system in the tube is then cured by exposure to ultraviolet (UV) light. When cured, the finished cured-in-place pipe will be a continuous and tight fitting pipe within a pipe. This type of reconstruction process can be used in a variety of gravity flow applications such as sanitary sewers, storm sewers, process piping, electrical conduits, and ventilation systems. 1.4 This international standard was developed in accordance with internationally recognized principles on standardization established in the Decision on Principles for the Development of International Standards, Guides and Recommendations issued by the World Trade Organization Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) Committee.

1.1 This practice describes the procedures for the reconstruction of pipelines and conduits (2 in. to 96 in. (5 cm to 244 cm) diameter) by the pulled-in-place installation of a resinimpregnated, flexible fabric tube into an existing conduit and secondarily inflated through the inversion of a calibration hose by the use of a hydrostatic head or air pressure (see Fig. 1). The resin is cured by circulating hot water, by the introduction of controlled steam into the tube, or by photoinitiated reaction. When cured, the finished cured-in-place pipe will be continuous and tight fitting. This reconstruction process may be used in a variety of gravity and pressure applications such as sanitary sewers, storm sewers, process piping, electrical conduits, and ventilation systems. 1.2 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regarded as standard. The values given in parentheses are mathematical conversions to SI units that are provided for information only and are not considered standard. NOTE 1—There are no ISO standards covering the primary subject matter of this practice. 1.3 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety, health, and environmental practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use. 1.4 This international standard was developed in accordance with internationally recognized principles on standardization established in the Decision on Principles for the Development of International Standards, Guides and Recommendations issued by the World Trade Organization Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) Committee.

1.1 This guide describes the design, selection considerations, and installation procedures for the placement of polyethylene (PE) pipe or conduit below ground using maxihorizontal directional drilling equipment. The pipes or conduits may be used for various applications including telecommunications, electric power, natural gas, petroleum, water lines, sewer lines, or other fluid transport. 1.2 Horizontal directional drilling is a form of trenchless technology. The equipment and procedures are intended to minimize surface damage, restoration requirements, and disruption of vehicular or maritime traffic with little or no interruption of other existing lines or services. Mini-horizontal directional drilling (mini-HDD) is typically used for the relatively shorter distances and smaller diameter pipes associated with local utility distribution lines. In comparison, maxihorizontal directional drilling (maxi-HDD) is typically used for longer distances and larger diameter pipes common in major river crossings. Applications that are intermediate to the mini-HDD or maxi-HDD categories may utilize appropriate “medi” equipment of intermediate size and capabilities. In such cases, the design guidelines and installation practices would follow those described for the minior maxi-HDD categories, as judged to be most suitable for each situation. 1.3 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regarded as standard. The values given in parentheses are mathematical conversions to SI units that are provided for information only and are not considered standard. 1.4 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety, health, and environmental practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use. Section 6 contains general safety information related to the use of maxi-horizontal directional drilling equipment. 1.5 This international standard was developed in accordance with internationally recognized principles on standardization established in the Decision on Principles for the Development of International Standards, Guides and Recommendations issued by the World Trade Organization Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) Committee.
