This International Standard establishes the mounting dimensions required for interchangeability of rod end spherical eyes of hydraulic cylinders. These rod end spherical eyes have been designed specifically for use with cylinders manufactured in accordance with ISO 6020/1 and ISO 6022, but this does not limit their application. The spherical bearing end eyes are used on piston rods of hydraulic cylinders for mechanically transmitting the cylinder force under oscillatory rotational and tilting movements. The design of the rod end spherical eyes is based on the maximum forces resulting from the specified internal diameter of the cylinders and pressures according to ISO 3320 and ISO 3322.

This part of ISO 7241 specifies different test methods which could be applied to quick-action couplings. This part of ISO 7241 applies to male and female coupling halves, complete couplings, couplings with and without sealing means when uncoupled, and couplings that are connected and disconnected by a linear and/or rotational motion. The user of this part of ISO 7241 may select only the tests applicable to his needs. It is not intended that all tests be carried out for every application.

This International Standard defines a statement of requirements for filters in hydraulic systems. A statement of requirements (SOR) is defined as a document to be provided by a user to specify his requirements to a manufacturer. A model SOR is described below to enable a user to define his requirements fully, without ambiguity and in standard form so that the supplier can meet the requirements as accurately as possible. Only the main features of a filter are to be defined in the SOR, but it will be understood that many variations and refinements are available which will influence the final choice. The response by manufacturers to the SOR will enable an initial choice to be made from those products which meet the main features defined in the SOR. It is unlikely that a manufacturer will meet all features defined in the SOR exactly from his standard range of products. He may offer his nearest standard product which might be beyond the limits laid down in the SOR. It is the responsibility of the user to determine the acceptability of features outside the stated requirements.

This International Standard lays down the mounting dimensions required for the interchangeability of accessories for 160 bar1) (16 MPa) medium series cylinders in accordance with ISO 6020/1 and 250 bar (25 MPa) series cylinders in accordance with ISO 6022. The accessbries have been designed specifically for use with cylinders manufactured in accordance with ISO 6020/1 and ISO 6022, but this does not limit their application. This International Standard covers the following accessories: — rod clevis (see figure 1 and table 1); — rod flanges (see figure 2 and table 2); — clevis bracket, form A (see figure 3 and table 3); — clevis bracket, form B (see figure 4 and table 4); — trunnion bracket (see figure 5 and table 5); — pivot pin (see figure 6 and table 6). These accessories are used on hydraulic cylinders for mechanically transmitting the cylinder force. The design of these accessories is based on the maximum forces resulting from the specified internal diameters of the cylinders and pressures according to ISO 3320 and ISO 3322. This International Standard only applies to the dimensional criteria of products manufactured in conformity with this International Standard; it does not apply to their functional characteristics.

1 This International Standard lays down general and dimensional specifications for sealing connections to be applied to fluid power tubes. Two types of connection are dealt with in this International Standard: — 24° flareless (bite) type fitting; — 37° flare type fitting. 2 This International Standard details only the female half of the 24° flareless (bite) type fitting, leaving each manufacturer to qualify his own mating ferrule that will bite into the tubing outside diameter when tightened with an appropriate mating nut. 3 This International Standard also details all the com-ponents of the 37° flare fitting type, including the shape and size of the tubing flare. Both metric and inch outside diameter tubing is accommodated by merely changing the most economical component, the sleeve (see annex A). In the past fittings have been predominantly used with inch tubing. 4 Both the 24° flareless (bite) and 37° flare fittings can be used on tubular ends of hose fittings as well. 5 The 24° flareless (bite) fittings may be attached to heavier wall tubing than ca'n be accommodated by flaring, thus ac-counting for the higher nominal pressure ratings. 6 This International Standard also specifies methods, whereby the flare type can be adapted to machined flare ends that may be welded or brazed onto tubing or hose couplings. By doing this, heavier wall tubing, like the 24° cone type, can be accommodated and higher nominal pressures can be used.
