1.1 These test methods measure the amount of toluene-2,6diisocyanate (2,6-TDI) isomer or toluene–2,4–diisocyanate (2,4-TDI) isomer in mixtures of the 2,4and 2,6-isomers of toluenediisocyanate (TDI). 4.1 This test method provides a means for comparing the corrosive potential of plastics and fillers in humid atmospheres. 4.2 This test method is intended for use in research and evaluation. 1.1 This test method is designed for use in obtaining the specific conductance of a water extract of plastics and fillers. 5.1 This test method is suitable for quality control, as specification tests, and for research. 5.2 Side reactions that form unsaturated compounds in polypropylene oxides produce small amounts of polymers with only one hydroxyl group per chain. These unsaturated polymers lower functionality and molecular weight, while broadening the overall molecular-weight distribution. 1.1 This test method measures unsaturation in polyether polyols. (See Note 1.) It uses 2 mL of ca. 0.05 M mercuric acetate reagent in methanol and about 1 g of sample or less. This test method uses a potentiometric determination of an end point. 1.2 The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as standard. No other units of measurement are included in this standard. 1.3 Mercury has been designated by many regulatory agencies as a hazardous substance that can cause serious medical issues. Mercury, or its vapor, has been demonstrated to be hazardous to health and corrosive to materials. Caution should be taken when handling mercury and mercury containing products. 5.1 Identification and quantitation of phthalates: DBP, BBP, DEHP, DNOP, DINP, and DIDP are required for regulated articles. This test method provides a procedure to identify and quantify regulated phthalates in PVC. 5.2 Other techniques successfully used to separate and identify phthalates in PVC include GC/MS, HPLC/UV, HPLC/MS, FTIR, and GC/FID (flame ionization detector). 1.1 This test method provides a procedure to identify and quantify six phthalates by thermal desorption (TD) gas chromatography (GC) mass spectrometry (MS). The phthalates are BBP, DBP, DEHP, DNOP, DINP and DIDP. This International Standard specifies a method of determining the total active-oxygen content of organic peresters. It applies to those peresters used to initiate crosslinking of unsaturated-polyester thermosets. The peresters most widely used in the crosslinking of unsaturated-polyester resins are given in Table 1. Butyl peresters may contain traces of tert-butyl hydroperoxide (TBHP), the active oxygen in which can be determined separately from that in the perester itself (see annex A). The active-oxygen content of the perester alone can then be obtained by subtraction.
