This European Standard specifies functional requirements and a product labelling applicable to temporary and permanent passive guards (in the following called screens) for protection against laser radiation. This standard includes test methods for testing functional performance and the specification of the user documentation to be supplied with the product. The screens are designed to protect the user from: ? unintentional exposure to direct and/or diffuse laser radiation; ? a time limited exposure to laser radiation, based on the functional requirements determined by risk assessment. This European Standard applies to supervised screens for installations in working places at which laser radiation up to a maximum mean power of 100 W or single pulse energy of 30 J occurs within the spectral range between 180 nm (0,18 μm) and 106 nm (1 000 μm). This European Standard applies to the protection against laser radiation only. This standard does not apply to other hazards including hazards from secondary radiation that can arise during, for example, material processing. This European Standard gives guidance on how to select such screens. Laser enclosures and housings that are supplied as part of the laser product or are supplied to be fitted to a laser system to form a laser product (according to EN 60825-1) are not considered to be within the scope of the standard.

This European Standard specifies procedures for assessment of electric, magnetic and electromagnetic fields produced by industrial and professional induction heating equipment. Typical induction heating applications are for example: - melting; - zone-melting; - heating before hot forming; - heating by tunnel-inductor; - hardening / coaxial transformer handheld devices; - tube welding; - tube annealing; - hardening; - soldering; - hard-soldering /brazing; - bonding; - annealing; - metal-strip and wire heating; - tempering; - sintering; - shrinking. This product standard covers the frequency range up to 30 MHz taking into account the specific characteristics of industrial and professional induction heating equipment and its usage. This European Standard may also be used for assessment regarding the requirements of Directive 2004/40/EC [1] on the minimum health and safety requirements regarding the exposure of workers to the risks arising from physical agents (electromagnetic fields), provided that no other relevant field sources are present in close proximity. If other field sources are present, additional assessment according to EN 50499:2008 is necessary. This European Standard does not cover protective measures for people with active implants.

This test method provides a procedure for performing laboratory tests to evaluate deflagration parameters of dusts. The data developed by this test method may be used for the purpose of sizing deflagration vents in conjunction with the nomographs published in NFPA 68, ISO 6184/1, or VDI 3673. The values obtained by this testing technique are specific to the sample tested and the method used and are not to be considered intrinsic material constants. For hard-to-ignite dusts with low KSt-values, a very strong ignitor may overdrive a 20-L chamber, as discussed in E1515 and Ref 2. If a dust has measurable (nonzero) Pmax- and KSt-values with a 5000 or 10 000-J ignitor but not with a 2500-J ignitor in a 20-L chamber, this may be an overdriven system. In this case, it is recommended that the dust be tested with a 10 000-J ignitor in a larger chamber such as a 1-m3 chamber to determine if it is actually explosible. 1.1 Purpose. The purpose of this test method is to provide standard test methods for characterizing the “explosibility” of dust clouds in two ways, first by determining if a dust is “explosible,” meaning a cloud of dust dispersed in air is capable of propagating a deflagration; or, if explosible, determining the degree of “explosibility,” meaning the potential explosion hazard of a dust cloud as characterized by the dust explosibility parameters, maximum explosion pressure, Pmax ; maximum rate of pressure rise, (dP/dt)max; and explosibility index, KSt. 1.2 Limitations. Results obtained by the application of the methods of this standard pertain only to certain combustion characteristics of dispersed dust clouds. No inference should be drawn from such results relating to the combustion characteristics of dusts in other forms or conditions (e.g., ignition temperature or spark ignition energy of dust clouds, ignition properties of dust layers on hot surfaces, ignition of bulk dust in heated environments, etc.) 1.3 Use. It is intended that results obtained by application of this test be used as elements of an explosion risk assessment that takes into account other pertinent risk factors; and in the specification of explosion prevention systems (see, for example NFPA 68, NFPA 69, and NFPA 654) when used in conjunction with approved or recognized design methods by those skilled in the art. Note 18212;Historically, the evaluation of the deflagration parameters of maximum pressure and maximum rate of pressure rise has been done using a 1.2-L Hartmann Apparatus. Test Method E789, which describes this method, has been withdrawn. The use of data obtained from the test method in the design of explosion protection systems is not recommended. 1.4 The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as standard. No other units of measurement are included in this standard. 1.5 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.

This recommended practice describes 1) methods for measuring external electric and magnetic fields and contact currents to which persons may be exposed, 2) instrument characteristics and the methods for calibrating such instruments, and 3) methods for computation and the measurement of the resulting fields and currents that are induced in bodies of humans exposed to these fields. This recommended practice is applicable over the frequency range of 0 to100 kHz.

The scope given in Clause 1 of EN 60601-1:1990 applies except that 1.1 is replaced by the following: 1.1 This European Standard specifies requirements for nebulizing systems used for the delivery of drugs in an aerosol form to humans through the respiratory system. This European Standard includes gas-powered nebulizers which may be derived from e. g. compressors, pipeline systems, cylinders etc., or electrically-powered nebulizers (e. g. ultrasonic and membrane devices) or manually-powered nebulizers. NOTE Requirements for nebulizers having also a humidification function are specified in EN ISO 8185:1997 + AC:2002 "Humidifiers" (see 56.102). This European Standard does not apply to nebulizers precharged with a specific medicinal product (e. g. MDI, DPI).
