1.1 This European Standard applies to electrical or non-electrical temperature control devices which are used to control temperatures within heat generating systems by controlling the supply of energy; it also applies to limiting devices which ensure that the temperature in heat generating systems will not exceed a predefined limit. This European Standard requires operating values, operating times, and operational sequences associated with the safety of the heat generating system. This European Standard also applies to controls using NTCs or PTCs thermistors, additional requirements for which are contained in Annex J of EN 60730-2-9. This European Standard applies to controls with a rated voltage not exceeding 690 V and with a rated current r~ot exceeding 63 A. This European Standard also applies to manual controls if, electrically and/or mechanically, they form an integral part of automatic controls. NOTE Requirements for manually operated switches not forming part of an automatic control are contained in EN 61058-1. This European Standard does not apply to room thermostats. 1.2 This European Standard does not take into account the response value of an automatic action of the control, if such a response value is dependent upon the method of mounting the control in the heat generating system or equipment, in which case the control should be tested together with the heat generator. Where a response value is of significance for the protection of the user, or surroundings, the value defined in the appropriate household equipment standard or as determined by the manufacturer applies. 1.3 This European Standard applies also to controls incorporating electronic devices, requirements for which are contained in Annex DX.

This European Standard specifies the terminology, the general requirements for the construction and operation of automatic forced draught gas burners and also the provision of control and safety devices, and the type test procedure for these burners. This standard is applicable to — automatic gas burners with a combustion air fan (hereinafter called "burners") that are equipped as described in clause 4, intended for use in heat generators of different types, and that are operated with fuel gases; — total pre-mixed burners and nozzle mixed burners. The standard is applicable to — single burners with a single combustion chamber, although such burners are fitted to a single appliance, in which case the requirements of the relevant appliance standard shall additionally apply; — single-fuel and dual-fuel burners when operating only on gas; — the gas function of dual-fuel burners designed to operate simultaneously on gaseous and liquid fuels in which case the requirements of EN 267 will also apply in respect of the liquid fuel function.

It provides dimensions for site constructed masonry heater components and clearances that have been derived by experience and found to be consistent with the safe installation of those masonry heaters. 1.2 Values given in SI units are to be regarded as standard. Inch/pound units may be rounded (see ). All dimensions are nominal unless specifically stated otherwise. This Code defines procedures for field performance and acceptance testing of hydraulic turbines and pump-turbines operating with water in either the turbine or pump mode. This Code applies to all sizes and types of hydraulic turbines or pump-turbines. It defines methods for ascertaining performance by measuring flow rate (discharge), head, and power, from which efficiency may be determined. Requirements are included for pretest arrangements, types of instrumentation, methods of measurement, testing procedures, methods of calculation, and contents of test reports. This Code contains mandatory test requirements and various methods of measurement. Where multiple methods of measurement and procedures are permitted by the Code, prior written agreement as to the selected methods and procedures is required. The test procedures specified herein and the limitations placed on measurement methods and instrumentation are capable of providing a total uncertainty, calculated in accordance with the procedures of PTC 19.1 and of this Code, of not more than: (a) Power ?.2%, (b) Flow Rate ?.5%, and (c) Efficiency ?.0%. Where favorable measurement conditions exist and best methods can be used, smaller uncertainties should result. Any test with uncertainties greater than the above shall not qualify as an ASME Code test. This Code contains recommended procedures for index testing and describes the purposes for which index tests may be used. This Code also contains Tables for (a) Acceleration of gravity as a function of latitude and altitude; (b) Vapor pressure of distilled water as a function of latitude and altitude; (c) Density of water at a given temperature and pressure; (e) Density of dry air; and (f) Density of mercury.
