Scope
This part of GB/T 19355 gives guidelines and recommendations for general guidelines for hot-dip galvanizing for corrosion protection of steel structural parts. The protection of structural parts by hot-dip galvanizing depends on the coating method used, the design of the structural part and the specific use environment of the structural part. The use of additional coatings (coatings outside the scope of this part of GB/T 19355), such as organic coatings (paints and powder coatings), can further improve the protection performance of hot-dip galvanized structural parts. The coating formed by the combination of additional coating and hot-dip galvanizing is called "composite coating system". The guidelines and recommendations in this part of GB/T 19355 do not involve the anti-corrosion maintenance of steel hot-dip galvanized coatings during service. For relevant project guidelines, see ISO 12944-5.
