This standard specifies the test and calculation methods for calculating fuel consumption using the carbon balance method by measuring vehicle carbon dioxide (CO2), carbon monoxide (CO) and hydrocarbon (HC) emissions, as well as inspection and judgment methods for production consistency. This standard applies to N1 category vehicles powered by ignition engines or compression ignition engines with a maximum design speed greater than or equal to 50km/h and M1 and M2 category vehicles with a maximum design total mass not exceeding 3500kg. M1 category vehicles with a maximum design total mass exceeding 3500kg can refer to this implementation. This standard applies to vehicles that can burn gasoline or diesel, and does not apply to hybrid electric vehicles; vehicles with other fuel types can refer to it.
