This standard specifies the insulation coordination of equipment in low-voltage systems. The equipment is suitable for systems with altitudes up to 2000m, rated voltage: AC up to 1000V; rated frequency up to 30kHz or DC up to 1500V. According to the performance standard of the equipment, this standard specifies the requirements for the electrical clearance, creepage distance and solid insulation of the equipment. The minimum electrical clearances specified in this standard do not apply where there is free gas. Special requirements for such cases may be dealt with by the corresponding professional standards themselves. This standard does not involve the determination of the following distances: - through liquid insulation; - through gases other than air; - through compressed air. Note 1 The requirement to extend the applicable frequency range to 1MHz is under consideration; 2 Higher voltages may appear in the internal circuits of the equipment; 3 The requirements for altitudes higher than 2000m can be derived from Table A2 of Appendix A. This standard is an electrical basic safety standard, which aims to guide relevant professional standards to reasonably formulate relevant requirements for various equipment involved, so as to achieve the purpose of insulation coordination. This standard provides the necessary guidance for various professional standards when determining the electrical clearances, creepage distances and solid insulation of equipment in the air.
