This part of GB/T 16935 specifies the insulation coordination of equipment in low-voltage systems. This part is applicable to equipment with an altitude up to 2000m, a rated voltage up to 1000V AC, a rated frequency up to 30kHz or a DC up to 1500V. According to the performance standard of the equipment, this part specifies the requirements for the clearance, creepage distance and solid insulation of the equipment. This standard includes electrical test methods for insulation coordination. The minimum electrical clearances specified in this standard do not apply where ionized gases are present. Special requirements for such cases are at the discretion of the appropriate product standards technical committee. This section does not involve the determination of the following distances: through liquid insulation; through gases other than air; through compressed air. This part is the electrical basic safety standard, which aims to guide relevant product standard technical committees to formulate relevant requirements reasonably for various equipments responsible for them, so as to achieve the purpose of insulation coordination. This part provides the necessary guidance information for each product standard technical committee to determine the electrical clearance, creepage distance and solid insulation of the equipment in the air. It is the responsibility of the manufacturer and the product standard technical committee to apply the requirements specified in this basic safety standard and, if necessary, refer to them within the scope of the equipment standard. If the relevant product standards do not specify the values of clearances, creepage distances and requirements for solid insulation, or in the absence of standards, this section applies.
