Scope: This standard specifies methods for providing high-quality audio coded representations and decoding of high-quality audio signals for storage media. The input of the encoder and the output of the decoder are compatible with the current PCM standard, such as the standard compact disc (CD) and digital audio tape (DAT). This standard provides continuous audio and video data streams for application storage media with 1.5Mbit/s data, such as CD, DAT and hard disk. The storage medium can be directly connected to the decoder, or can be connected to the decoder in other ways, such as through communication lines, or according to the GB/T 17191 multi-data method defined in GB/T 17191.1. The sampling rates used in this standard are 32kHz, 44.1kHz and 48kHz.
