This standard specifies three methods for the determination of sodium cyclamate in food—gas chromatography, colorimetry, and thin-layer chromatography. This standard gas chromatography and colorimetry are applicable to the determination of sodium cyclamate in beverages, preserved fruits and other foods; thin-layer chromatography is applicable to the determination of sodium cyclamate in beverages, fruit juices, jams and cakes. The detection limit of this standard is 4μg.
