Scope
This part of GB/T 2423 gives two test methods: structural strength and impact. These two methods are suitable for testing surface mount devices (SMDs) made of glass or sintered materials, such as capacitors, resistors, and inductors containing ferrite. The purpose of both test methods is to evaluate the mechanical stress applied to surface mount devices during and after mounting; the two tests detect different mechanical stresses. Which test method should be used should be specified in the specifications of the relevant components.
