Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions, product classification, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, signs, packaging, transportation, storage, etc. of heat pump water heaters for household and similar purposes (hereinafter referred to as heat pump water heaters). This standard is applicable to household and similar heat pump water heaters driven by electric motors, using vapor compression refrigeration cycle, using air or water as heat source to provide hot water. Heat pump water heaters with other heat sources or uses can be used as a reference. This standard does not apply to industrial heat pump water heaters.
