Scope

This part of GB 25684 specifies the safety requirements for mechanical excavators and gives the legend of mechanical excavators. This part is used in combination with GB 25684.1. The specific requirements of this part take precedence over the general requirements of GB 25684.1. This section applies to mechanical excavators defined in GB/T 8498. This standard also applies to this type of equipment if it is intended to be used in conjunction with other working equipment or attachments such as drilling rigs, piling and pile extraction equipment and mobile equipment (such as: rails, walking legs, pontoons and ships) or fixed chassis. Mechanical excavators, chassis and superstructure, provided that no specific hazards associated with such additional equipment or attachments are specified in this Part. This part specifies all the major hazards, dangerous states or dangerous events related to the earth-moving machinery in this scope when it is applied under the manufacturer's specified purpose and foreseeable misuse conditions; Technical measures for risks arising from major hazards, hazardous states or hazardous events. This section does not apply to machines manufactured before the implementation of this section.
