This part of GB/T 6072 specifies the classification of requirements and parameters of the reciprocating internal combustion engine speed control system, as well as the terms and definitions of typical engine speed. Additional requirements are available for special purpose engines. This part of GB/T 6072 applies to land, railway traction and marine reciprocating internal combustion engines, but does not include driving road construction machinery, earth moving machinery, agricultural and industrial tractors, road vehicles and aviation engines, and does not include self-regulating engines and engines that require only limited top speed or maximum fuel delivery. This part of GB/T 6072 specifies the requirements for compression-ignition engines (diesel engines), and special requirements may be raised for spark-ignition engines and dual-fuel engines.
