Important: This standard applies to the conformity assessment of ankle-foot devices and foot components with strength requirements specified in 4.4 of ISO 22523:2006 (see Note 1). Prosthetic ankle-foot devices and foot components that have passed the relevant tests of ISO 10328 and proved to meet the strength requirements specified in 4.4 of EN 12523:1999 do not need to be re-inspected according to this standard. Warning: This standard is not intended to be used as a guide for the selection of ankle-foot devices or foot components when prescribing lower limb prostheses. Any behavior that ignores the warning may bring safety risks to the amputees. This standard specifies the test procedures for the dynamic test, static verification test and static ultimate strength test of lower limb prosthetic ankle-foot devices and foot components. In the dynamic and static test procedures specified in this standard, the characteristics of the test loading conditions uniformly applied to each sample of the ankle-foot device or foot assembly submitted for inspection are represented by loading curves and motion curves in a standardized format. Each sample of the ankle-foot device and foot assembly submitted for inspection is free to develop its own performance during loading.
