- Scope
- This chapter of GB 19212.1-2008 is replaced with the following content: This part of GB 19212 specifies the safety requirements for transformers for class III portable tungsten lamps and power supply units with built-in transformers for class III portable tungsten lamps. Transformers with electronic circuits are also included in this standard. Unless otherwise specified, the following "transformers" include transformers for class III portable tungsten lamps and power supply units with built-in transformers for class III portable tungsten lamps. This section applies to stationary or mobile, single-phase, air-cooled (self-cooled or air-cooled), independent or supporting dry-type transformers. Its windings can be encapsulated or non-encapsulated. This standard applies to transformers and power supply units (linear) with an internal operating frequency not exceeding 500 Hz. This section is used in conjunction with GB 19212.17 switching power supply unit, and also applies to power supply units with an internal operating frequency exceeding 500 Hz. When the requirements of the two standards are inconsistent, the more stringent standard takes precedence. The rated power supply voltage does not exceed AC 1000 V, and the rated power supply frequency and internal operating frequency do not exceed 500 Hz. Class III transformers for portable tungsten lamps have the following additional characteristics: -- no-load output voltage and rated output voltage do not exceed AC 50 V or ripple-free DC 120 V; -- no-load voltage and rated output voltage are only small difference. Rated output should not exceed: --10 kVA. This section does not apply to external circuits and their components intended to be connected to the input and output terminals of the transformer. Transformers included in this section may be used when double insulation or reinforced insulation between circuits is required by installation procedures or final product standards.
