The supplementary requirements of this standard apply to fuse-links installed in equipment incorporating semiconductor devices, which are suitable for use in circuits with a nominal voltage not exceeding 1 000 V a.c. or 1 500 V d.c. Where applicable, circuits of higher nominal voltages may also be used. The purpose of this standard is to determine the characteristics of semiconductor fuse-links, so that under the premise of the same size, semiconductor fuse-links can be replaced by other types of fuse-links with the same characteristics. Therefore, this part specifically stipulates: a) The following characteristics of fuse-links: 1) rated value; 2) temperature rise during normal operation; 3) power dissipation; 4) time-current characteristics; 5) breaking capacity; 6 ) Cut-off current characteristics and I2t characteristics; 7) Arc voltage characteristics. b) Type test to verify the characteristics of the fuse link; c) Marking of the fuse link; d) Technical data to be provided (see Appendix BB).
