Scope
This Part of "Explosive Atmospheres" specifies special requirements for the construction and assessment of intrinsically safe electrical systems (type of protection "i"). This section applies to intrinsically safe electrical systems intended to be used in whole or in part in Class I, Class II or Class III equipment locations. This part is a supplement to GB 3836.4-2010. The requirements of GB 3836.4-2010 are applicable to electrical equipment in intrinsically safe electrical systems. The installation requirements for Class II or Class III intrinsically safe electrical systems designed in accordance with the requirements of this part are specified in GB/T 3836.15-2017.
