This Recommendation specifies those equipment management function (EMF) requirements that are common to multiple transport technologies. Eventually this Recommendation will include all the common management functions. This Recommendation specifies the capabilities required no matter what technology and where there are differences in requirements for a given feature between technologies, the requirements will be specified in the technology-specific Recommendation. See Appendix I for an overview of common and technology-specific Recommendations. A future version of this Recommendation will elaborate on specific requirements within a given capability. It must be noted that for a network element (NE) it is not mandatory to support all described applications, and consequently not all specified functions. Depending on the position in the network, the NE may support a subset of the functions. Packages with subsets of these functions can be found in the technology-specific Recommendations.

The scope of this International Standard is limited to evaluation of toner cartridge page yield for tonercontaining cartridges (i.e. all-in-one toner cartridges and toner cartridges without a photoconductor) for colour electro-photographic printers. This International Standard can also be applied to the printer component of any multifunctional device that has a digital input printing path, including multi-function devices that contain electro-photographic printer components. This International Standard is only intended for the measurement of toner cartridge page yield when printing on plain paper using cyan, magenta, yellow and black toner cartridges. No other claims can be made from this testing regarding quality, reliability, etc. This International Standard is not for use with printers whose minimum printable size is equal to or greater than A3 or for photo only printers. NOTE Application of this International Standard for yield measurement of toner replenishment systems (i.e. toner cartridge- and bottle type systems where the toner reservoir is internal to the printing system and not user-replaceable) requires some procedural modifications specifically noted herein. This International Standard is intended for equipment used in the office space and does not apply to production volume or large format printing machines where the major cost of ownership is not caused by the consumable yield measured in this International Standard.

The scope of this International Standard is limited to evaluation of ink cartridge page yield for ink-containing cartridges (i.e. integrated ink cartridges and ink cartridges without integrated print heads) for colour inkjet printers. This International Standard can also be applied to the printer component of any multifunctional device that has a digital input printing path, including multi-function devices that contain inkjet printer components. Both liquid and solid ink products can be tested using this International Standard. This International Standard is only intended for the measurement of ink cartridge page yield when printing on plain paper. No other claims can be made from this testing regarding quality, reliability, etc. This International Standard can be used to measure the yield of any cartridge that is used in a significant amount during the printing of the test suite defined in ISO/IEC 24712. This International Standard is not for use with printers whose minimum printable size is equal to or greater than A3 or for printers designed or configured to print photos (for example, maximum printable size less than A4 or a printer configuration intended for photo only printing). In addition, it only applies to drop on demand printing systems.

Within the general scope described in lSO/IEC 9995-1, this part of lSO/IEC 9995 specifies the allocation of letters to the keys of the numeric zone ZN0 of a keyboard which has the ten digits zero to nine allocated in the “1-2-3” layout. The layout specified in this part of lSO/IEC 9995 is intended for applications of information technology equipment keyboards where letters instead of digits are used for the mnemonic retention of numeric information. The use of letters on the numeric zone ZN0 for the mnemonic retention of numeric information is strongly deprecated on keyboards which also contain an alphanumeric section. lSO/IEC 9995 specifies various characteristics of keyboards used by information technology equipment (ITE), e.g. a) personal computers, workstations, computer terminals, VDTs (visual display terminals), typewriters, etc., having an alphanumeric keyboard; b) calculators, telephones and automated teller machines having a numeric keypad. The keyboard defined in lSO/IEC 9995 is the conventional linear keyboard, which is physically divided into sections and the sections into zones within which the keys are laid out. In this part of lSO/IEC 9995, the sections of the keyboard are identified and the general shape and relative placement of the sections are specified. Spacing of keys and physical characteristics are covered in this part of lSO/IEC 9995, as are the principles governing the placement of characters and symbols on keys. This part of ISO/IEC 9995 specifies a key numbering system which applies to all types of numeric, alphanumeric and composite keyboards of ITE. This part of lSO/IEC 9995 specifies the principles governing the placement of characters and symbols on keys used on all types of numeric, alphanumeric and composite keyboards of ITE. Although the keyboard defined by lSO/IEC 9995 may be used for different languages, the specifications are written as applying to Latin languages with a character path from left to right and a line progression from top to bottom. The primary layout within the alphanumeric zone is established in most countries by a national standard or by national usage. Allocation guidelines are provided in lSO/IEC 9995-2. Complementary layouts are specified in lSO/lEC 9995-3. This part of lSO/IEC 9995 defines characteristics related to interface 1 in Figure 1. lSO/IEC 9995 specifies the allocation of functions (graphic characters and/or control functions) to keys. The graphic characters and the control functions have been given common names intended to be familiar to the users of a keyboard. In general, keyboards are not expected to generate coded control functions, but the operation of a control function key may cause a number of coded control functions to appear in data interchange to achieve the desired effect. The effects of those keys that affect keyboard states are specified in other parts of lSO/IEC 9995.
