This European Standard is part of a series of standards on the method for calculation of system energy requirements and system efficiencies. The scope of this specific part is to standardize the:- required inputs; - calculation method; - resulting outputs, for space heating generation by; - air heating systems, including control; - overhead radiant heating systems for non-domestic use, including control; and; - stoves and local heaters for residential use. This standard does not apply to heating systems that utilize water as a heat transfer medium. Other heat generation systems such as boilers, heat pumps and others are covered in other sub modules of M3-8.

This European Standard defines a method for the performance assessment of building-integrated cogeneration units by the calculation of the electricity production, useful heat output and recoverable losses. Such units are commonly known as micro or small scale cogeneration, or micro or small scale CHP. A building-integrated cogeneration, is a cogeneration unit installed to supply space heating, domestic hot water and possibly cooling within a building. It could operate as the only heating/cooling appliance of the building or in combination with other heat generators, such as boilers or electrical chillers. Unlike district heating systems, where heat and electricity are generated at central plants and transmitted through networks to a number of remote buildings, a building-integrated cogeneration unit produces useful heat for uses within the building. The electricity produced by the integrated cogeneration unit may be used within the building or may be exported. This standard deals with heat generators for heating or for combined domestic hot water and heating services. The calculation is based on the performance characteristics of the units, defined in product standards, and on operation conditions such the needed heat output. Table 1 shows the relative position of this standard within the set of EPB standards in the context of the modular structure as set out in EN ISO 52000-1.

This European Standard specifies definitions and requirements for sealants used for sealing of joints applied in sanitary areas in the interior of buildings exposed to non-pressurized water. It covers joints in: - bathrooms; - toilets; - showers; - domestic kitchens; - prefabricated elements in sanitary areas (e. g. shower cubicles). Industrial, drinking water, underwater (swimming pools, sewage systems, etc.), food contact applications and sealing of glass-ceramic cooktop panels (stove tops, ceramic hobs) are excluded from the scope. This European Standard does not provide criteria or recommendations for the design of joints and installation of sealants in sanitary applications. This European Standard specifies the laboratory test methods and test requirements for aerodynamic, energy rating and acoustic performance, of multifunctional balanced units intended for use in a single dwelling. In the case of units consisting of several parts, this standard applies only to those designed and supplied as a complete package with the mount instructions. It covers units that contain at least, within one or more casing:- supply and exhaust air fans; - air filters; - common control system; and one or more of the additional components; - air to water heat pump; - air to air heat pump; - air-to-air heat exchanger. Units including only an air to air heat exchanger and/or an exhaust air to supply air heat pump are covered by EN 13141-7. A non-exhaustive list of possible configurations of multifunctional units covered by this standard is given in Clause 5. The standard does not cover the thermal aspects of humidity transfer in the air-to-air heat exchanger. This standard does not deal with non-ducted units on supply and extract air side. This standard does not deal with collective units (centralized or semi-centralized systems) These multifunctional balanced units can be connected to ground heat exchanger for air preheating, solar collector or other heating systems. This standard does not cover the testing with these additional components. This standard does not cover units including combustion engine driven compression heat pumps and sorption heat pump.

This European Standard specifies performance requirements and design methods for temporary roofs and encapsulations. It is possible to form the constructions in several ways:- temporary roof which is supported by an existing permanent construction; - temporary roof which is supported by a scaffold; - temporary roof which is supported by another temporary construction (e. g. steel frame); - temporary wall which is supported by a separate construction; - encapsulation which is a complete temporary construction including roof, walls and corresponding temporary supports. This European Standard sets out general requirements. These are substantially independent of the materials of which the construction is made. This standard is intended to be used as the basis for enquiry and design.
