This European Standard specifies the structural design requirements applicable to all types of adjustable pallet racking systems fabricated from steel members, intended for storage of unit loads and subject to seismic actions. This European Standard gives also guidelines for the design of clad rack buildings in seismic zones, where requirements are not covered in the EN 1998 series. This European Standard does not cover other generic types of storage structures. Specifically, this European Standard does not apply to mobile storage systems, drive-in, drive-through and cantilever racks or static steel shelving systems. This European Standard does not apply to the design of seismic isolated racking structures.

This European Standard specifies requirements and test methods for durability, strength, security and functionality of mechanically operated locks and their locking plates: a) for use in doors in buildings; b) for use on fire and smoke compartmentation doors fitted with door closing devices, to enable such doors to close reliably and thus achieve self-closing in the event of fire; and c) for use on locked fire doors to maintain the fire integrity of the door assembly. This European Standard covers locks and their locking plates which are either manufactured and placed on the market in their entirety by one producer or produced by more than one producer, or assembled from sub-assemblies produced by more than one producer and designed to be used in combination. This European Standard specifies mechanically operated locks and locking systems intended for use in different environmental and security conditions, thus necessitating different grades. This European Standard does not specify Multipoint locks or their locking plates which are specified by prEN 15685. This European Standard specifies the dimensions and properties required for security. Assessment of the contribution of the product to the fire resistance of specific fire resistance and/or smoke control doorset assemblies is beyond the scope of this European Standard.

1.1 This specification covers steel sheet metallic coated by the hot-dip process and coil-coated with organic films for exterior exposed building products. Sheet of this designation is furnished in coils, cut lengths, and formed cut lengths. Building products include corrugated and various types of roll and brake-formed configurations. 1.2 The substrate is available in several different metallic-coated steel sheet products as enumerated in 4.1, depending on the requirements of the purchaser. 1.3 Coating systems supplied under this specification consist of a primer coat covered by various types and thicknesses of top coats. The combination of primer and top coat is classed as either a two-coat thin-film system or as a two-coat (or more) thick-film system. Typical top-coating materials are: polyester, silicone polyester, acrylic, fluoropolymer, plastisol, or polyurethane. 1.4 This specification is applicable to orders in either inch-pound units (as A755) or SI units [as A755M]. Values in inch-pound units and SI units are not necessarily equivalent. Within the text, SI units are shown in brackets. Each system shall be used independently of each other. 1.5 Unless the order specifies the “M” designation (SI units) the product shall be furnished to inch-pound units. 1.6 The text of this specification references notes and footnotes that provide explanatory material. This part of EN 508 specifies requirements for self-supporting roofing, covering, wall cladding, lining, liner trays and tiles products for discontinuous laying made from metallic coated steel sheet with or without additional organic coatings. Sheets intended to be used with insulation and membranes are also covered. This European Standard establishes general characteristics, definitions, classifications and labelling for the products, together with requirements for the materials from which the products can be manufactured. It is intended to be used either by manufacturers to ensure that their products comply with the requirements or by purchasers to verify that the products comply when purchased before they are despatched from the factory. It specifies the requirements for products which enable them to meet all normal service conditions. This European Standard applies to all discontinuously laid self-supporting external profiled sheets for roofing covering, wall cladding, lining and liner trays with the exception of tiles with a surface area less than 1 m 2 and produced by stamping. These profiled sheets are designed to keep wind, rain and snow out of the building and to transfer any resultant loads and infrequent maintenance loads to the structure. This European Standard does not cover products for structural purposes, i.e. it does cover products used in constructions of Class III (according to EN 1993-1-3), it does not cover products used in constructions of Classes I and II (according to EN 1993-1-3) intended to contribute to the global or partial stability of the building structure by providing racking resistance or resistance to permanent static loads (excluding self- weight of the metal sheet). No requirements for supporting construction, design of roof, cladding, lining, tile system and execution of connections and flashings are included.
