This standard gives specifications for materials, production, properties, requirements and methods of testing for precast concrete monolithic stairs, and for precast concrete elements (e.g. individual steps) used to make reinforced and/or prestressed concrete stairs. This standard is applicable to structural stairs for indoor or outdoor use. This standard covers precast concrete stairs and associated landings of monolithic design or constructed from individual steps supported by beams or columns. Supporting elements may include in situ concrete. This standard covers terminology, performance criteria, verification methods, tolerances, relevant physical properties, special test methods and specific aspects of transport, erection and connection. Geometrical properties related to functionality of stairs are not covered by this standard and can be found in National regulations or local practice. Precast concrete stairs are classified into two main product families: - monolithic stairs constructed from precast concrete components consisting of flights, landings or a combination of these. They may include vertical supporting elements; - stairs constructed from individual steps, whether load bearing or not, assembled on site with, for example, carriages or a central column. Their shape may be straight or winding. Stairs may incorporate parapets (on one or both sides) and landings. Stairs may have simple bearings (e.g. on corbels, walls or beams), bolted connections or they may be connected with reinforcement and in situ concrete. The surfaces of the precast elements may be exposed or covered by finishes.

This European Standard specifies particular requirements and performance criteria for the design and construction of cast-in-situ concrete chimneys as well as prefabricated concrete chimneys. It identifies requirements to ensure the mechanical resistance and stability of concrete chimneys in accordance with the general requirements given in EN 13084-1. As for chimneys attached to buildings the criteria given in Clause 1 of EN 13084-1:2000 apply. Unless otherwise stated in the following clauses the basic standard for the design of concrete structures, EN 1992-1-1, applies.

This document specifies the terminology, requirements, basic performance criteria, test methods and evaluation of conformity that will be applied to precast concrete foundation piles, factory produced for building and civil engineering works and installed at the site by the use of impact, vibration, pressing or other suitable techniques. This document may also be applied to products manufactured in temporary plants on site where production is controlled in accordance with the provisions of Clause 6 and is protected against adverse weather conditions as necessary. This document applies to foundation piles produced in a plant as reinforced or prestressed concrete elements. The cross-section may be solid or provided with a hollow core, either prismatic or cylindrical. The crosssection may be constant over the full length or tapered partly or wholly along the pile or pile segment length. This document deals with foundation piles manufactured either in one length or in segments with cast-in pile joints. The foundation piles may have an enlarged toe or a pile shoe. This document applies to normal weight concrete as defined in EN 206-1 compacted so as to retain no appreciable amount of entrapped air other than entrained air.

These requirements cover metallic and nonmetallic chimney liners intended for field-installation into new or existing masonry chimneys that are used for the natural draft venting of Category I gas-fired, Type L vented oil-fired, and solid-fuel-fired residential-type appliances in which the maximum continuous flue-gas outlet temperatures do not exceed 1000鳩 (538鳦). Chimney liners are intended to be installed in existing masonry chimneys with or without a liner of fire-clay tile, or to be used as a substitute for masonry fire-clay tile flue liners in new chimneys. Chimney liners are intended to be installed in accordance with the Standard for Chimneys, Fireplaces, Vents, and Solid Fuel Burning Appliances, NFPA 211; National Fuel Gas Code, NFPA 54 and codes such as the International Building Code, International Gas Code, International Mechanical Code, International Residential Code, and the Uniform Mechanical Code. Chimney liners as covered by these requirements are not intended for use with Category II, III, or IV gas burning appliances as defined by the National Fuel Gas Code, NFPA 54, or other appliances that result in condensation of corrosive acids on the liner of the chimney, or that create positive pressures in the chimney system.

The connection strength between geosynthetic reinforcement and segmental concrete block units is used in design of reinforced soil retaining walls. This test is used to determine the connection strength for the design of the connection system formed by segmental concrete block units and geosynthetic reinforcement layers in reinforced soil retaining walls. Performing a series of these connection tests at varying normal loads permits development of a relationship between connection strength and normal load. This relationship may be linear, bi-linear, or some other complex mathematical expression. This connection strength test is meant to be a performance test (laboratory or field), therefore, it should be conducted using full-scale system components. The conditions for the test are selected by the user and are not for routine testing. As a performance test on full-scale system components it accounts for some of the variables in construction procedures and materials tolerance normally present for these types of retaining wall systems.1.1 This test method is used to determine the connection properties between a layer of geosynthetic reinforcement and segmental concrete block units used in construction of reinforced soil retaining walls. The test is carried out under conditions determined by the user that reproduce the connection system at full-scale. The results of a series of tests are used to define a relationship between connection strength for a segmental unit-geosynthetic connection system and normal load.1.2 This is a performance test used to determine properties for design of retaining wall systems utilizing segmental concrete units and soil reinforcing geosynthetics, either geotextiles or geogrids. The test is performed on a full-scale construction of the connection and may be run in a laboratory or the field.1.3 The values stated in SI units are regarded as the standard. The values stated in inch-pound units are provided for information only. This standard may involve hazardous materials, operations, and equipment. This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.

1.1 This specification covers solid nonload-bearing and load-bearing precast concrete wall units made from autoclaved aerated concrete. Precast autoclaved aerated concrete (AAC) is a cementitious product based on calcium silicate hydrates in which low density is attained by the inclusion of an agent resulting in macroscopic voids and is subjected to high-pressure steam curing. The precast autoclaved aerated concrete wall units are large-size solid rectangular prisms, which are to be laid using thin-bed mortar. Installed units covered by this specification shall be protected against direct exposure to moisture using a coating material accepted by the AAC manufacturer.1.2 The raw materials used in the production of precast autoclaved aerated concrete are portland cement, quartz sand, water, lime, gypsum or anhydrite, and an agent resulting in macroscopic voids. The quartz sand used as a raw material may be replaced by a siliceous fine aggregate other than sand, and usually is ground to a fine powder before use. Fly ash may be used as a sand replacement. The batched raw materials are mixed thoroughly together to form a slurry. The slurry is cast into steel molds. Due to the chemical reactions that take place within the slurry, the volume expands. After setting, and before hardening, the mass is machine cut into units of various sizes. The units then are steam-cured under pressure in autoclaves where the material is transformed into a hard calcium silicate.1.3 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regarded as the standard. The values given in parentheses are for information only.1.4 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.
