Scope
This standard applies to avalanche breakdown diodes (ABD) of surge protective device components (SPDC for short). The surge protectors designed and manufactured are connected to low-voltage power distribution systems, power transmission systems, and communication network systems. The test specifications in this section apply to single-ended ABD. Multiple ABDs can be packaged in one package as a single diode part. Each diode in this part may be tested according to this standard. This section contains a series of test methods for the electrical performance of ABD. The test methods in this section are used to verify or measure the rated and characteristic values of ABD for a specific package design.
