This part of GB 12476 specifies the requirements for the design, structure, test and marking of electrical equipment used in combustible dust environments. Pressure to prevent dust from entering the enclosure without a source of release of combustible dust and avoid the formation of a combustible dust environment within the enclosure. This standard also specifies specific requirements for construction and testing, including protection requirements for positive pressure protected "pD" electrical equipment intended for use in combustible dust atmospheres. This standard applies to the structural requirements of the enclosure and its associated parts, including, if any, the inlet and outlet ducts for the protective gas, and the safety measures and measures to ensure the formation and maintenance of positive pressure protection type "pD" and Necessary requirements for safety devices. This standard does not apply to the requirements of positive pressure enclosures with internal dust release sources. This section does not apply to positive pressure rooms with or without internal dust release sources. This section does not apply to those pyrotechnic dusts or pyrophoric substances that do not require atmospheric oxygen to burn. This section does not address the hazards of flammable gas and dust mixtures.
