Scope
This standard establishes general rules for assigning specific meanings to certain visual, audible and tactile signs, the purpose of which is to: enhance the safety of persons, property and/or the environment through the safe monitoring or safe operation of equipment or processes; Normal supervision, control and maintenance of equipment or process; Facilitate rapid identification of control conditions and operating device locations. This standard is generally applicable to the following occasions: From some simple occasions such as a single indicator light, button, mechanical indicator, light-emitting diodes (LEDs) or image display, to a variety of devices used to control equipment or Various control stations of industrial processes; occasions involving personal, property and/or environmental safety, and occasions where the above codes are used for normal monitoring of equipment; occasions where a specific code is specified by a technical committee for a specific function .
