This part specifies immunity tests for electrical and/or electronic equipment in the electromagnetic environment in which they are placed. This section considers only conducted phenomena, including immunity tests of equipment connected to public and industrial power supply networks. The purpose of this standard is to give a basis for evaluating the immunity of electrical and electronic equipment when subjected to positive and negative voltage fluctuations of low magnitude. The voltage fluctuations involved in this section do not include flicker, which is a physiological phenomenon caused by fluctuations in the brightness of lights. This section applies to electrical and/or electronic equipment with a rated current of not more than 16A per phase. Not suitable for electrical and electronic equipment connected to DC or 400Hz AC power distribution networks. Tests for equipment connected to these networks are given in other national standards. The immunity test level and related performance criteria required in the special electromagnetic environment are given in the applicable product, product category or general standard. However, many types of products are not sensitive to voltage fluctuations, so this test is not required for these equipment.
