1.1 This specification covers aluminum 1350-H19 (extra hard), 1350-H16 or -H26 (3/4 hard), 1350-H14 or -H24 (1/2 hard), and 1350-H142 or -H242 (1/2 hard), bare concentric-lay-stranded conductors constructed with a straight round central wire surrounded by one or more layers of helically layed wires. The conductors are for general use for electrical purposes (Explanatory Note 1 and Note 2). 1.2 The values stated in either SI units or inch-pound units are to be regarded separately as standard. The values stated in each system may not be exact equivalents; therefore, each system shall be used independently of the other. Combining values from the two systems may result in non-conformance with the standard. 1.2.1 For density, resistivity and temperature, the values stated in SI units are to be regarded as standard.Note 1???Prior to 1975, aluminum 1350 was designated as EC aluminum.Note 2???The aluminum and temper designations conform to ANSI Standard H35.1/H35.1M. Aluminum 1350 corresponds to Unified Numbering System A91350 in accordance with Practice E527. Note 3???Sealed conductors that are intended to prevent longitudinal water propagation and are further covered/insulated are also permitted within the guidelines of this specification.

1.1 This specification covers non-specular surface finishes on overhead aluminum electrical conductors. Overhead aluminum electrical conductors, when installed, typically have a shiny surface appearance. This ???reflective??? or ???specular??? surface can make a transmission line more noticeable in appearance against the background landscape. A factory treatment process of the outer surface of the aluminum wires can render the surface finish into a dull, non-reflective, matte grey finish. This non-reflective or ???de-glared??? surface finish allows the conductor to become less visible when observed from a distance and enables the transmission line to blend in with the skyline or landscape background.2 1.2 This specification is intended, by means of diffuse reflectance measurement, to establish a uniformity of conductor finish which is acceptable to the user. Such a specification will furnish a basis for consistent manufacturing process control. 1.3 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regarded as standard. The values given in parentheses are mathematical conversions to SI units that are provided for information only and are not considered standard. 1.4 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.

1.1 This specification establishes the requirements for wire in round, hexagonal, octagonal, rectangular, and square form of UNS Alloy Nos. C71000, C74500, C75200, C75700, C76400, C77000, and C79200. 1.2 This specification is general in that the product is used in many applications where the requirements are too particular to be specified by standard test results. 1.2.1 For particular or critical applications it is advisable for the purchaser to submit samples or drawings to the manufacturer to secure an adjustment of anneal or temper to suit the application for which the product is intended. 1.3 The following information is intended to assist the purchaser in the application of this specification: 1.3.1 For most general applications—UNS Alloy Nos. C71000, C74500, C75200, and C75700. 1.3.2 For hard or spring tempers—UNS Alloy Nos. C76400 and C77000. 1.3.3 For ease of machining—UNS Alloy No. C79200. 1.4 Units—Values stated in either inch-pound units or SI units are to be regarded separately as standard. Within the text, SI units are shown in brackets. The values stated in each system may not be exact equivalents; therefore, each system shall be used independently of the other. Combining values from the two systems may result in nonconformance with the standard. 1.5 This international standard was developed in accordance with internationally recognized principles on standardization established in the Decision on Principles for the Development of International Standards, Guides and Recommendations issued by the World Trade Organization Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) Committee.

1.1 This specification covers shaped wire compact concentric-lay-stranded aluminum conductor, steel-reinforced (ACSR/TW) and its component wires for use as overhead electrical conductors (Explanatory Note 1 and Note 2). 1.2 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regarded as standard. The values given in parentheses are mathematical conversions to SI units that are provided for information only and are not considered standard.Note 1???ACSR/TW is designed to increase the aluminum area for a given diameter of conductor by the use of trapezoidally shaped wires (TW). The conductors consist of a central core of round steel wire(s) surrounded by two or more layers of trapezoidal aluminum 1350-H19 wires. Different strandings of the same size of conductor are identified by type, which is the approximate ratio of steel area to aluminum area expressed in percent (Table 1, Table 2 and Table 3). For the purpose of this specification, the sizes listed in Table 1 and Table 2 are tabulated on the basis of the finished conductor having an area or outside diameter equal to that of specific sizes of standard ACSR so as to facilitate conductor selection.TABLE 1 Construction Requirements for Shaped Wire Compact Concentric-Lay-Stranded Aluminum Conductors, Coated Steel Reinforced Size to Have Area Equal to ACSR, Class AA ACSR/TW Conductor Size Size and Stranding of ACSR with Equal Area Number of Aluminum Wires Number of Layers Steel Core Stranding
