Scope

This standard specifies the inspection items, inspection methods, inspection requirements, inspection results judgment, disposal and data archiving of motor vehicle safety technical inspection. This standard applies to institutions with inspection and testing qualifications to conduct safety technical inspections of motor vehicles. This standard is also applicable to the safety and technical inspection of imported motor vehicles by institutions engaged in the inspection and testing of imported motor vehicles. Motor vehicles that are approved for actual road tests and temporary and temporary vehicles may conduct safety technical inspections with reference to this standard. This standard does not apply to the safety technical inspection of tractors running on roads such as tractor transport units.
