This standard applies to household and similar electrical appliances or equipment for use in (including in, on or with) appliances or equipment, powered by hands, feet or other human actions, or by parts of appliances or equipment (such as door) indirectly driven appliance switch (hereinafter referred to as switch), the rated voltage of the switch is not more than 440 V, and the rated current is not more than 63 A. This standard applies to switches incorporated in, on or integral with appliances or equipment. NOTE 1 Additional requirements may be required for switches used in tropical climates. 2 Additional or alternative requirements may be imposed on switches in appliance standards. 3 The term "apparatus" in this standard refers to apparatus or equipment. This standard also applies to switches for the following appliances: - switches incorporated in the appliance (composite switches); - switches incorporating electronic components (electronic switches); - switches connected to a cord (cord switch); - remote from the appliance Installed, but not in the scope of GB 16915.1 switch (independently installed switch); - changeover selector. Their special requirements are specified in Part II. This standard does not apply to switches integrated with automatic controllers, which fall within the scope of application of IEC 60730-1.
