- This standard applies (when required by the relevant product standard) to switchgear and controlgear (hereinafter referred to as "apparatus") intended for connection to circuits with a rated voltage not exceeding 1000 V a.c. or 1500 V d.c. This section does not apply to low-voltage switchgear and control equipment as specified in GB 7251. The purpose of this standard is to specify the basic rules and requirements common to switchgear and controlgear, including: - definitions; - characteristics; - relevant information on electrical appliances; - normal use, installation and transport conditions; performance requirements; — verification of characteristics and performance.
