Scope
This standard applies to controllers and starters that may have a series of mechanical switching devices and are connected to a circuit whose rated voltage does not exceed 1000 V AC. This standard specifies the characteristics of controllers and starters for use with or without bypass switching devices. Controllers and starters within the scope of this standard are not generally intended to break short-circuit currents. Therefore, controllers and starters shall be provided with suitable short-circuit protective devices (see 8.2.5) as part of, but not necessarily within, them. This standard specifies the requirements for controllers and starters for use with separate short-circuit protective devices. This part does not apply to: continuous control of the speed of AC motors at abnormal speeds; semiconductor devices for controlling non-motor loads, including semiconductor contactors (see 2.2.13 of GB 14048.1-2006); electronic AC converters in IEC 60146 streamer. The contactors and control circuit components used in controllers and starters shall comply with their corresponding product standards, and the mechanical switching components used shall comply with their corresponding national standards and the additional provisions in this part. The purpose of this standard is to specify the following: the characteristics of controllers and starters and their associated devices; the conditions that controllers and starters should meet in the following aspects: operational performance; dielectric properties; degree of protection (when provided with an enclosure ); Structural requirements; Tests and test methods used to verify that these conditions are met; Marks on the product or information provided by the manufacturer.
