Scope

This part specifies the test methods for electroslag furnaces (including vacuum electroslag furnaces and pressurized electroslag furnaces) with a capacity of 50kg and above for industrial use. This part applies to electroslag remelting furnaces that use direct resistance heating of conductive slag for metal remelting and refining, including electroslag remelting furnaces with single or multiple consumable electrode structures and AC, DC or low-frequency power supply systems. This section should be used in conjunction with Part 1.
