This chapter of GB 4706.1-2005 is replaced by the following content: This part deals with the safety of room heaters for household and similar purposes. The rated voltage of single-phase appliances does not exceed 250V, and the rated voltage of other appliances does not exceed 480V. Appliances not intended for general household use, but which nevertheless may pose a danger to the public, such as room heaters intended for use by non-professionals in shops, light industry and farms, also fall within the scope of this standard. As a practical matter, the appliances covered by this standard present common hazards which all persons may encounter in the home and its surroundings. In general, however, this standard does not deal with: - the dangers of unattended young children and disabled persons using appliances; - the situation of young children playing with appliances.
