This chapter of GB 4706.1-2005 is replaced with the following: This part of GB 4706 specifies the safety of humidifiers with heating, ventilation or air conditioning systems for household and similar purposes. This standard applies to electric humidifiers with heating, ventilation or air conditioning systems for domestic, commercial and light industrial applications (may also include large self-contained commercial installations), which operate by evaporative or misting systems, spray water, produce steam and the like , the maximum rated voltage of single-phase appliances does not exceed 250V; the rated voltage of other appliances does not exceed 600V. As far as the actual situation is concerned, this section deals with the general hazards presented by the appliance, which are encountered by all persons in and around the dwelling. However, this standard does not normally take into account: — the use of appliances by unattended young children and disabled persons; — the situation of young children playing with appliances.
