- This part of GB/T 18978 provides guidance for users who use VDT-based information processing systems for office work. The guidance is relevant both to the organization adopting the system and to the people using the equipment. The purpose of this section is to apply ergonomic knowledge derived from practical experience to task design to improve the efficiency and comfort of individual users. GB/T 16251 stipulates the relevant ergonomic principles. Other parts of GB/T 18978 specify the requirements for visual display characteristics, controllers, workplaces and environments. This section does not deal with software and dialog design.
