This Part of GB/T 18978 specifies the guidelines for physical input devices in interactive systems. These principles provide ergonomic principles-based guidance for the following input devices: keyboard, mouse, cursor, joystick, trackball, touch pad, input pad, pointer pad, touch-sensitive screen, stylus, light pen, voice-activated devices, and motion controlling device. This section specifies and describes the ergonomic principles for the design and use of input devices. These principles can be used to provide advice on the design and use of products. This part defines the relevant terms of the entire GB/T 18978 "400" sub-series standards. For some special application areas, for example, areas of great concern to safety issues, some other principles can be used, and these principles have priority over the principles specified in this standard. This standard also specifies the usability characteristics of input devices, including functional, electrical, mechanical, maintainability and safety-related characteristics. In addition, it also includes some content with the use environment and software compatibility. Any of these features may be affected by other rules or standards. Consider the following electrical characteristic example. In view of this situation, this section considers the following characteristics: --- The characteristics affected by the primary consideration; Example: The characteristics related to electrical safety will not be affected by the designer. -- Features that may impair usability. Example: The thickness of a mouse transmission cable or the weight of a battery in a hand-held device must be considered.
