Scope
This part of GB/T 18978 provides ergonomic recommendations for the presentation of information for office tasks and special attributes of information displayed on text and graphical user interfaces, as well as recommendations for the design and evaluation of visual information presentation, which also includes coding technology. These recommendations can be applied throughout the design process (e.g., to provide guidance to designers in design, as a basis for heuristic evaluation, and as a guide for usability testing). Information on color is limited to ergonomic recommendations for the use of color for emphasis and classification of information (for additional recommendations on the use of color see ISO 9241-8). This Part of GB/T 18978 does not deal with the auditory presentation of information. Interface design depends on the task, user, environment, and existing technology. The content in this part is used under the premise of understanding the design of the interface and the environment in which it is used, and it is not a set of rules that must be followed completely. This section assumes that the designer already has relevant information about the task and user needs and the application of existing technologies (this may need to be obtained by consulting a qualified ergonomics expert or conducting empirical tests on actual users).
