Scope

This standard specifies the basic requirements for the classification, requirements, test methods and test rules of marine low-voltage switchgear and control equipment. This standard applies to marine low-voltage switchgear and control equipment with rated voltage not exceeding 1000 V for AC, rated frequency not exceeding 60 Hz and DC not exceeding 1500 V. This standard is also applicable to marine low-voltage switchgear and control equipment sets operating at higher frequencies (hereinafter referred to as marine equipment sets).
