This International Standard specifies the requirements for couplings for the transmission of power between the rotating shafts of two machines in special—purpose applications in the petroleum,petrochemical and natural gas industries.Such applications are typically in large and/or high speed machines,in services that can be required to operate continuously for extended periods,are often unspared and are critical to the continued operation of the installation.By agreement,it can be used for other applications or sewices. Couplings covered by this International Standard are designed to accommodate parallel(or lateral)offset, angular misalignment and axial displacement of the shafts without imposing unacceptable mechanical loading on the coupled machines.It is applicable to gear,metallic flexible element,quill shaft and torsionally resilient type couplings.Tomional damping and resilient type couplings are detailed in Annex A;gear-type couplings are detailed in Annex B and quill shaft style couplings are detailed in Annex C. This International Standard covers the design,materials of construction,manufacturing quality,inspection and testing of special—purpose couplings. This International Standard does not define criteria for the selection of coupling types for specific applications. This International Standard is not applicable to other types of couplings,such as clutch,hydraulic,eddy— current,rigid,radial spline,chain and bellows types.

This International Standard provides a comprehensive basis for the collection of reliability and maintenance (RM) data in a standard format for equipment in all facilities and operations within the petroleum, natural gas and petrochemical industries during the operational life cycle of equipment. It describes data-collection principles and associated terms and definitions that constitute a "reliability language" that can be useful for communicating operational experience. The failure modes defined in the normative part of this International Standard can be used as a "reliability thesaurus" for various quantitative as well as qualitative applications. This International Standard also describes data quality control and assurance practices to provide guidance for the user. Standardization of data-collection practices facilitates the exchange of information between parties, e.g. plants, owners, manufacturers and contractors. This International Standard establishes requirements that any in-house or commercially available RM data system is required to meet when designed for RM data exchange. Examples, guidelines and principles for the exchange and merging of such RM data are addressed. Annex A contains a summary of equipment that this International Standard covers. • This International Standard recommends a minimum amount of data that is required to be collected and it focuses on two main issues: — data requirements for the type of data to be collected for use in various analysis methodologies; — standardized data format to facilitate the exchange of reliability and maintenance data between plants, owners, manufacturers and contractors. • The following main categories of data are to be collected: — equipment data, e.g. equipment taxonomy, equipment attributes; — failure data, e.g. failure cause, failure consequence; — maintenance data, e.g. maintenance action, resources used, maintenance consequence, down time. NOTE Clause 9 gives further details on data content and data format. • The main areas where such data are used are the following: — reliability, e.g. failure events and failure mechanisms; — availability/efficiency, e.g. equipment availability, system availability, plant production availability; — maintenance, e.g. corrective and preventive maintenance, maintenance supportability; — safety and environment, e.g. equipment failures with adverse consequences for safety and/or environment. This International Standard does not apply to the following: — data on (direct) cost issues; — data from laboratory testing and manufacturing (e.g. accelerated lifetime testing); — complete equipment data sheets (only data seen relevant for assessing the reliability performance are included); — additional on-service data that an operator, on an individual basis, can consider useful for operation and maintenance; — methods for analysing and applying RM data (however, principles for how to calculate some basic reliability and maintenance parameters are included in the annexes).

This International Standard specifies requirements and provides recommendations applicable to fixed concrete offshore structures for the petroleum and natural gas industries, and specifically addresses a) the design, construction, transportation and installation of new structures, including requirements for in-service inspection and possible removal of structures, b) the assessment of structures in service, and c) the assessment of structures for reuse at other locations. This International Standard is intended to cover the engineering processes needed for the major engineering disciplines to establish a facility for offshore operation. It can also be used for the design of floating concrete structures as specified in ISO 19904-1 i11] (and the future ISO 19904-2 I12] when published) and for arctic structures (as specified in the future ISO 19906 I7! when published). In order to provide a standard that will be useful to the industry, a comprehensive treatment of some topics is provided where there is currently no relevant reference. For such well-known topics as the design formulas for concrete structural members, this International Standard is intended to be used in conjunction with a suitable reference standard for basic concrete design (see 8.2.1). The designer can use suitable national or regional design standards that provide the required level of safety. Only other ISO documents will be referenced directly in the text.

During an oil-spill response, trajectory models are used to predict the future movement and fate of oil (forecast mode). This information is used for planning purposes to position equipment and response personnel in order to optimize a spill response. Oil-spill trajectory models can be used in a statistical manner (stochastic mode) to identify the areas that may be impacted by oil spills. In those cases where the degree of risk at various locations from an unknown source is needed, trajectory models can be used in an inverse mode to identify possible sources of the pollution (receptor mode). Oil-spill trajectory models are used in the development of scenarios for training and exercises. The use of models allows the scenario designer to develop incidents and situations in a realistic manner.1.1 This practice describes the features and processes that should be included in an oil-spill trajectory and fate model.1.2 This practice applies only to oil-spill models and does not consider the broader need for models in other fields. This practice considers only computer-based models, and not physical modeling of oil-spill processes.1.3 This practice is applicable to all types of oil in oceans, lakes, and rivers under a variety of environmental and geographical conditions.1.4 This practice does not address issues of computer operation.
