Scope
This standard specifies the specific requirements for the design, selection and installation of electrical installations in explosive gas atmospheres. These requirements are in addition to the requirements for electrical installations in non-hazardous locations. This standard applies to all installations of electrical equipment in hazardous locations, whether permanent, temporary, mobile, vehicle-mounted or portable. This standard does not apply to: - Electrical installations in coal mines; - Electrical installations in hazardous locations formed by combustible dust or fibers; - Manufacture and processing of explosives; - Medical rooms.
