This part of GB 3836 specifies the special requirements for the construction, testing and marking of electrical equipment, electrical equipment components and Ex components protected by potting type "m" for explosive gas atmospheres and explosive dust atmospheres. This part is only applicable to potted electrical equipment with a rated voltage not exceeding 11 kV, potted parts of electrical equipment and potted Ex components (hereinafter collectively referred to as "m" equipment). Electrical equipment used in an environment where explosive gases and combustible dust may occur simultaneously may require additional protective measures. This section does not apply to pyrotechnic dusts that do not require atmospheric oxygen to burn, nor does it apply to spontaneous combustion substances. This section does not consider the formation of flammable or toxic gases in dust hazards. This part is the supplement and modification of the general requirements of GB 3836.1-2010. If there is a conflict between the requirements of this section and the requirements of GB 3836.1-2010, the requirements of this section shall prevail.
