Scope This chapter of GB 4706.1-2005 is replaced by the following content: This part deals with the safety of the flexible sheet heating elements intended to be installed in buildings to heat the room in which they are located. The voltage does not exceed 480 V and is installed in the building according to the instructions (book). After reaching the required hazard protection level, the film heating element becomes the heating unit Note 101: Note the following: - Many countries apply different wiring standards; Heating units used in vehicles, ships or aircraft may require some additional requirements; — in many countries, additional requirements are prescribed by national fire protection departments, national building code departments, national health care departments, departments responsible for labor protection and similar departments . Note 102: This section does not apply to the following situations: - Heating units intended for industrial use only; - Appliances intended to be used in special locations, such as corrosive or explosive atmospheres (dust, steam or gas); - Blankets, mats and similar flexible heating appliances (IEC 60335-2-17); — heating mats and foot warmers (IEC 60335-2-81); — heating appliances intended to be used under carpets; — flexible heating elements incorporated in other appliances
